The Orienteering Tour, X-mas Lights, will officially open on December 7, 2023.

We invite you to join us at 8 pm at Largo da Restauração next to the statue of João Gonçalves Zarco.

ORGANIZATION:

Associação de Orientação da RAM with the support of Clube Aventura da Madeira and the Secretaria de Turismo da RAM.

OBJECTIVE:

• With the map provided, visit the main points illuminated with Christmas decorations in Funchal – individually or as a team.

Basic info:

• This is a non-competitive activity;
• You must always follow traffic rules, walk on sidewalks and crosswalks;
• Each location has a specific score;
• The route will be validated with the "iOrienteering" app;
• The control QR codes are placed on vertical structures supporting Christmas lights – some of these are temporary and may not be represented on the map provided.

How to participate:

• Download and install the app on the mobile devices you will use;
- For iPhones, iOrienteering is available on the Apple App Store;
- For Android, iOrienteering is available on the Google Play Store;
• In mobile device settings – App Permissions – you should always allow the use of the camera;
• Optional:
- Register for free so you can upload your results later.

MAP:

Enter the activity:

1. Plan, with your team, a route through the checkpoints you want to visit;
2. Go to the starting point marked on the map with a triangle and scan the Setup QR Code using the iOrienteering app;
3. To start the route, you must scan the START QR code;
4. Visit the control points in the order you prefer - when approaching the location, you should find the respective QR code and scan it using the app.
5. To finish, go to the FINISH point (Double Circle);
6. Click on upload results.
